Why should women care about omegas anyway?

Why should women care about omegas anyway?

Our famous omega yummy gummy is an essential. But why do we care so much about omegas anyway? Why do we consider our omega yummy gummy so essential?  Let us explain why we feel so passionate about omegas.

Women benefit more than men

Women benefit more from omega-3 consumpmtion than men. Omegas protect against certain conditions that affect only women. Such as: menstrual pain, osteoporosis, rheumatoid arthritis. Women are two to three times at risk to suffer from rheumatoid arthritis than men and it usually happens during middle age.

Rheumatoid arthritis occurs when body’s immune system attacks the lining of the joints in different areas, resulting in inflammation and pain. Two systematic reviews published in 2012 and 2017 suggest that omega supplements may help to alleviate joint swelling, pain and morning stiffness because of its anti-inflammatory effects.

Reduced symptoms of depression and anxiety

Omega 3 supplements are known to be effective against symptoms of depression and anxiety. Current research suggests an association between the inclusion of omega-3 fatty acids in the diet and a reduced risk for depression. The present study evaluated the effectiveness of omega-3 fatty acid supplements in alleviating depressive symptoms in patients with mild to moderate depression.

Pretty awesome huh? But it takes time. Levels of omega-3's build up quickly in the body once you take supplements. But it may take 6 weeks to 6 months to see a significant change in mood, pain, or other symptoms.

Omega-3s have been studied in various mood disorders, such as postpartum depression, with some promising results. This study even suggests that people  bipolar disorder (manic depression), the omega-3s are most effective for the depressed phase of the illness. Omegas are pretty amazing.

This impact on mood is one of the reasons we have made omega's a fundamental supplement in all of our products. You might have a yeast infection or need some cool condoms, but no matter what the issue is, you most likely need more omegas.

Reduced risk of cancer in older women

Various studies have shown that women who consume omega 3 supplements and fish oil capsules are at a reduced risk of cancer as compared to those who don't take these supplements.

Estrogen Balance

A randomized clinical trial on healthy postmenopausal females showed that supplementation of fatty acids plus moderate exercise resulted in a positive effect on the level of estrogen.

Don't forget...

And just a reminder (in case you forgot)... what the heck are omegas? Omega-3 fatty acids are a group of polyunsaturated fatty acids that are essential to human health for certain vital functions and benefits. Alpha-linolenic acid (ALA) is essential for the eye, nerve and membrane development. Eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and Docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) are important for the production of prostaglandins, a hormone-like substance, that usually help to regulate blood pressure, inflammation, neurological functions, hormones production etc. in human body.

The human body cannot produce these essential fats like EPA and DHA. We need to obtain these nutrients from diet (enter our yummy gummy).
